My “Nightlife” in Hong Kong
Categories: Trips

After a seven – hour flight from Paris, a three – hour transit in Dubai and another seven hours on another plane we arrived in Hong Kong. The time change messed my schedule up like never before. Today is the second day in HK and I am still going to bed past 4 am.
We are staying in Kowloon island for the next two months, close to Jordan metro station. I have not had the time to see much yet but what I have seen so far around Jordan is absolutely awesome. Everything captures our attention: the lights of the huge ads, the constant flow of people, the street markets open until very late at night, the endless amount of restaurants and shops with different types of food… The fact that everything is so foreign to us is charming and captivating. The humidity and the heat reminds me of Havana. I am happy that I can leave the house at 5pm without any extra clothing for the night in my purse.

My boy was extremely happy when he tested the internet speed! – “It is faster than in Canada” he said – “I don’t care if my room is tiny. I already love this place”. It looks like now we are going to be able to upload pictures and to catch up with some films.

I am doing laundry as I write this and it is past 1 am in this town. There is something magical about having this much energy at night. The entire city is resting while I feel like going for a walk at 2:30 am. Almost everyone I know is on the other side of the world so I can socialize all night if I want to. Whatever I do seems so important, just because I am spending my nights doing it… 🙂

I am enjoying this too much but I know I should be trying to adjust to the real time. Oh, well, more stories later.
