I had some unusual fun this weekend. On Saturday morning we crossed the Bay bridge and went to Oakland to try a funky exercise place called The Athletic Playground. They have a variety of classes (Acroyoga, Handstands, Hooping) but we registered for their famous “Monkey Conditioning” session. I had to laugh and googled this Monkey craziness. It is actually a lot of fun and quite a workout. I am in some serious shoulder and butt pain!.

Being rusted did not help much but I am just proud I survived the first class. I always found that working with your body weight is the natural thing to do, more than lifting weights just for the sake of growing muscles. But I am not a specialist and do not visit the gym very often so it would be impossible to have a proper opinion. Any workout is going to be a great workout for me.

Either way, I jumped left and right, did handstands, I tried the rings with no luck at all. Result: ended up dead. Could not have a smoke because I was extremely tired.

It is too bad that it takes us over an hour to get there otherwise it is a cool spot to keep yourself in shape.

As I had in plan I tried a new coffee place (Peet’s Coffee and Tea). Not too different from Starbucks, I believe.

On the road, we found a busy burger place as well (“Super Duper Burger”) and busy means good (or cheap and good) most of the times so I suppose this weekend I am covering the American flavour very well. Good thing that biking more is on top of my list.
