Cuban pianist Harold López Nussa is performing with Puerto Rican saxophonist David Sánchez at SF Jazz on Sept, 25th, 2014. Some cool Cuban jazz is coming my way in less than a month. For those who are in the States, you can check out the tour dates on the pianist’s website.

Afro Cuban Jazz Suite is one of the themes recorded for Calle 54 which is a documentary about Latin Jazz by Spanish director Fernando Trueba. It features excellent Cuban musicians like Paquito D’Rivera, Bebo and Chucho Valdes, Tito Puente, Chico O’Farrill and Cachao.

  Cuban Jazz warms my heart and soul. Harold Lopez Nussa just released a CD called “El pais de las Maravillas” (Wonderland), a trio with bassist Felipe Cabrera and drummer Ruy Adrian Lopez Nussa.

Jane Bunnett is a Toronto renowned saxophonist, flutist and composer who has been working, along with trumpeter Larry Cramer, with Cuban musicians since the early 80’s.
