Life, Culture and Travels from the perspective of a Cuban
So long, Cordoba!
Categories: Trips

I will be coming back to Cordoba city. I know that very well. Another city to come back to with a group of friends or family.

I woke up early to pack my few belongings and to walk to the bus station but I did not leave the hostel without having my breakfast at the rooftop, taking with me a last glance of the old city and its bright blue sky. I can get lost over and over in Cordoba. To those who think they can see Cordoba in four days…well, not me. I need more time, siempre more time. If you have a detailed plan of spots to visit you could probably see a lot but if you want to relax and enjoy while sightseeing four days are no sufficient. I get too ambitious and I want to walk each street, to take photographs of the ancient and the modern. I am not allowing myself to get stress out seeing something that I have been waiting to see my whole life so the result is less places but more enjoyment so I am happy with that.

A few things to share from Cordoba and its people? They are friendly, happy, very natural and helpful. I did not expect to see so many people of all ages attending to mass. Their Spanish accent is very different from the north and at times I could not understand what I was hearing. Some misspell words in signs as much as in a third world Spanish speaking country, unfortunately. They love street art and poetry. They smile. Old folks dress up and get together for a caña at a boulevard. They seem to take good care of their city. They celebrate life outside, like in Cuba, the street is also their living room.

I wanted to post some of the amazing shots of streets, graffiti (I kept looking for them everywhere) and buildings which made me love the old “Corduba”. 🙂
